The Armeniaco cluster is named after the city of Armenia, Colombia,
capital of the Quindío Department. The cluster includes crustal events
but is dominated by deeper events related to the subduction of the Nazca
plate beneath the South American plate. The cluster includes the 7.4 Mw
earthquake of August 10, 2026, as well as ten events with magnitude
6.0 to 6.7. Almost all events are recorded to teleseismic distances. All
events have depth constraint from near-source and local distance
readings, and in many cases also from teleseismic depth phases. Station
coverage is excellent and the location calibration is very robust.
